The virtual event has so far had more than 8,500 active participants – exceeding the expectations of organiser Informa Markets. More than 300 exhibitors are already  showcasing their new products to attendees, who also have access to insightful live and on-demand content sessions until 4 December.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Informa Markets reports 8,500 activated attendees on the platform so far &#8211; from CEOs  to research and development managers and product developers. Thirty-three per cent of participants have a role in upper management (C-level), while 66 per cent are responsible for purchasing in their company.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Fi Europe CONNECT platform is seeing intense activity. As of 25 November, more than 10,000 meeting requests were recorded and, so far,there have been more than 4,500 conversations on the platform. An impressive 8,800 new contacts were made in the first three days alone.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Fi Global team is delighted by the event’s success. Brand Director Julien Bonvallet said, &#8220;Our goal was to focus on an exchange of ideas, networking and lead generation with our virtual alternative. This is what makes the live event Fi Europe co-located with Hi Europe, too, a magnet for the entire ingredients industry year after year.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">During the first days of the show, the daily panel discussions and exhibitor showcases were particularly well received. Martijn van Dijk, Group Head of Sales at Informa Markets: &#8220;We are very pleased to welcome new partners such as Invest in Denmark and the Japanese External Trade Association (JETRO). For the first time, a Japanese pavilion with twelve exhibitors is  part of the fair. In total, 43 countries are represented at Fi Europe CONNECT. This proves that our virtual offering can definitely complement its big sister Fi Europe co-located with Hi Europe in terms of internationality.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Next week&#8217;s programme includes the Startup Innovation Challenge pitches (1 – 3 December) and a presentation by LuAnn Williams on the Top Ten Trends from Innova Market Insights (1 &amp; 2 December). Other on-demand offerings include must-see exhibitor showcases, an extensive virtual New Product Zone and a Media Zone featuring a range of trade publications.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Now in its 25th year and with 1700 entries across 70 countries, the 2020 ISC competition awarded one Double Gold to Kavalan&#8217;s *Solist Vinho Barrique and a further 9 Golds earlier in the year. The gold medal winners are as follows:</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">CEO Mr YT Lee said: &#8220;We are honoured to receive the recognition for our distillery and help place Taiwan on the world whisky stage again.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Previously in 2015, Vinho was singled out by the World Whiskies Awards and named the World&#8217;s Best Single Malt Whisky. In 2019, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition gave it a Platinum medal, which signifies 3 consecutive Double Golds.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The whisky behind the groundbreaking Shave, Toast and Rechar (STR), a cask treatment developed by the late Dr Jim Swan at Kavalan, the Solist Vinho Barrique is aged in wine barrels specially treated to bring out all the complex, multi-dimensional flavours of ripe melon, mango, kiwi and citrus fruits on a background of mixed spice and dates.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In addition, in the first stage of the 2020 International Wine &amp; Spirit Competition (IWSC) in London, the Kavalan *Solist Amontillado and the Kavalan *Solist Manzanilla both won Gold Outstanding in the first round, scoring 98 points each.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Judges described the Amontillado as follows:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">&#8220;Opulent and expressive with layered aromas and flavours of dark chocolate, Christmas cake and sweet spice. Dense and rich with chewy mouthfeel and a wonderful, evolving finish of malt, spicy oak, a touch of smoke and a twist of orange peel. Sensational!&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Judges described the Manzanilla as follows:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">&#8220;Intense and heady aromas of rich dried fruit, spice and dark chocolate. Big, sweet, and indulgent on palate, liquid tiramisu with tobacco, prunes and PX sherry. A lifted finish gives freshness and balance; an outstanding whisky.&#8221;</p>

REVEL Avila is unlike anything else on the market – blanco, which is immediately bottled after distillation, offers a fresh, slightly citrus flavor with a hint of smoke; reposado, aged for 12 months in a once-used whisky oak barrel, provides a smoky vanilla flavor; and añejo, a 96-proof spirit that is aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels, takes on the flavors of a cognac.</p>

Many of our partners and key exhibiting clients also expressed their apprehension about participating this year’s MIFB edition due to this outbreak” says Mr. Henri Tan, Project Director of Sphere Exhibits Malaysia. Recently a dialogue been carried out by the MIFB Team with some of our local &amp; international partners and almost all assured to abide on travel ban set by the authorities and proclaim the health of their co-workers is the utmost priority.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As we laud the Government &amp; Public continued efforts to recover from this unfortunate situation faced, we have decided to postpone Malaysian International Food &amp; Beverage (MIFB) Trade Fair 2020, originally scheduled from 22nd to 24th July 2020 to a later date upon the availability of the event venue KL Convention Centre &amp; this year’s 2nd half-year business events calendar. We seek your kind understanding and fullest support; and will continue to take reference from the Malaysian Government’s advisories to plan our course of action.</p>

Javits Convention Center (Hall 1B).</strong> The health and safety of all stakeholders/exhibitors, attendees and partners is the show’s first priority.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Unfortunately, with the new show dates, the “Cross-over Day” with New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Suppliers’ Day will not be possible and is now canceled.</p>
