Originally created in LA with a master distiller, using a complex blend of meticulously sourced and carefully distilled ingredients, Optimist Botanicals are entirely free of alcohol, sugar, sodium, carbs, calories, additives, and artificial preservatives, allowing ‘sober curious’ gourmands and health-conscious consumers to enjoy a delicious craft spirit without compromising their mental or physical wellbeing.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Optimist Drinks’ first offering is Optimist Botanicals, signature distilled non-alcoholic botanical spirits that come in three elegant blends, BRIGHT, FRESH, and SMOKEY. A liquid love letter to Los Angeles, each unique flavor takes consumers on a sensory journey to salt-sprayed coastlines ( BRIGHT ), verdant canyons ( FRESH ) and arid desert ( SMOKEY ), inspired by the diverse cultures, landscapes and mindsets of LA.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Optimist Drinks’ Co-Founders, husband and wife Tommy and Lisa Farr Johnstone, realized that despite the popularity of the increasingly crowded NoLo (No and Low) alc drinks space, a crafted, complex importantly clean offering was missing. The original recipes were developed with a master distiller in Downtown Los Angeles.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The three (3) distinct blends each combine 10-15 unique botanical distillates, employing a range of extraction methods &#8211; steam, vacuum, and CO2 extraction, some you’d expect from a high-end craft spirit, but others more commonly used in perfume making or the cannabis industry. This ensures they use the truest ‘essence’ or ‘spirit’ of every botanical. The ingredients are meticulously sourced from all over the world, keeping sustainable farming and supply practices in mind.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>BRIGHT</strong> is inspired by Venice Beach with notes of citrus, sherbert and salty sunshine featuring Lemon, Jasmine, Green Mandarin, Lavender, Turmeric, Cornmint, Orange, Tangerine, Fennel, Myrrh and Cinnamon Leaf.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>FRESH</strong> takes its cue from the verdant Topanga canyons after a late spring rain with notes of wild herbs, wet leaves and earthy pine from Juniper Berries, Cilantro, Lime Peel, Fennel, Lovage, Basil, Angelica Root, Red Thyme, Tarragon, Jasmine, Habanero, Oregano and Tangerine</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>SMOKEY</strong> takes its inspiration from the High Desert at sunset with warming and intense notes of the bonfire, bittersweetness and spice from Lapsang Souchong, Bitter Red Orange, Clove, Ginger, Sage, Turmeric, Bergamot, Cinnamon leaf, Habanero, Geranium, Valencia Orange, and Jasmine.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In addition to creating an alternative beverage that gives people a choice, the freedom to experiment with their drinking rituals and enhance their social connections, Optimist has a broader mission to promote mental and social wellbeing and will create ‘tools for Optimists’ beyond the drinks, launching ‘In Progress’, a bi-weekly podcast that helps build a practice of optimism.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Westward American Single Malt Pinot Noir Cask is a truly elegant whiskey, influenced by Oregon’s premier grape varietal: Pinot Noir. This blend of cask-finished whiskeys is created in partnership with a handful of iconic Willamette Valley producers, including Bergstrom Wines and Suzor Wines, among others. The spirit reflects the vibrance of the winemaking region’s signature grape while allowing the bold, robust notes of the whiskey to shine. Westward’s Pinot Noir Cask begins with original Westward American Single Malt, which is made from scratch using Pacific Northwest two-row barley, brewed with American pale ale yeast for outstanding flavor, double pot distilled for exceptional character, and matured in 2-char, kiln dried 53-gallon new American oak barrels. The whiskey is then finished for up to two years in French Oak wine casks that previously held Pinot Noir. It is bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV) and priced at $89.99.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Zing Zang&#8217;s new spirits-based canned ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails feature Bloody Mary, Margarita, and Bourbon Whiskey Sour.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Zing Zang RTD cocktails – initially available in three varieties: Bloody Mary, Margarita, and Bourbon Whiskey Sour – combine Zing Zang&#8217;s award-winning cocktail mixes with premium high-quality vodka, silver tequila, and Kentucky bourbon. Each 12-ounce can contains nine percent alcohol by volume, the same ABV of most bartender-made cocktails, and offers the convenience of two servings. The Zing Zang RTDs will be introduced initially in 20 U.S. states, with additional distribution to follow in 2021. RTD consumption in the U.S. is expected to increase by +72% by 2024, IWSR reports. Though the RTD category is growing rapidly, consumers still have few options for spirits-based, premium quality cocktails like Bloody Marys, Margaritas, or Bourbon Whiskey Sours. Monk Fruit, a plant native to China and Thailand, is used as a natural non-calorific sweetener for the Moroccan Mint Tea and Raspberry Black Tea varieties. Mijenta is crafted using the highest quality ingredients, including fully mature certified Blue Weber Agave from Mexico&#8217;s maguey plants, which are grown in deep red clay soil and are only harvested at their ripest by a specialist team.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Mexico-based Maestra Tequilera, Ana Maria Romero, designed and oversaw the entire creation process, from harvest to bottle. The Reposado, which is scheduled to launch at the end of 2020, is aged up to 6 months in oak casks, and will offer a softer and fuller expression of Mijenta. <p style="text-align: justify;">The unique taste of Mijenta is a story that unfolds from within, which celebrates the agave and enhances its aromatic, sensual aromas. The outstanding tequila is bright and transparent with a powerful body that features, honey, vanilla, caramel and floral notes, along with flashes of tropical fruits such as peach, melon, pineapple and light touches of soursop. The palate confirms its olfactory promise, with a complex, silky and generous finale, perfected by Mijenta&#8217;s preeminent Maestra Tequilera.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Each element of the unique tequila crafting journey is carefully calibrated to create Mijenta&#8217;s signature aromatic palette. Mijenta exclusively uses fully mature, certified Blue Weber Agave from the highlands of Jalisco. It achieves its distinctive flavor profile through a meticulously slow process and traditional methods, ranging from the selection of agaves from the best plots, to rich fermentation of slow cooked unfiltered agaves to the delicate distillation and pot stills.  Precise cuts in the heads and tails of the plants help control temperatures and account for the cool mornings in the highlands.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Inspired by Blake&#8217;s Farms hand-dipped cider mill caramel apples, Caramel Apple is a dessert-like semi-sweet hard cider and marries smooth caramel sweetness with tart green apples. Apple Lantern pairs the refreshing taste of hand-picked apples with the oven-roasted richness of pumpkin creating a crisp and perfectly spiced hard cider. The hard ciders feature 6.5% ABV.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Lantern flavors five years ago exclusively in the Blake&#8217;s Tasting Room on the farm in Armada, Michigan, a popular destination for autumn activities. Always a fan-favorite, every year both flavors have sold out within the first few weeks.</p>

This is a fun way for fans to try and share all our flavors while helping them discover a few new favorites,&#8221; shared Bill Creelman, founder and CEO of Spindrift.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">To enhance the fun of trying all 11 different flavors, each Drifter Pack is equipped with a tasting guide to prompt discussion and considerations of aroma, color, tasting notes, mouthfeel and overall flavor. Spindrift hopes fans will share their flavor feedback so they can incorporate these opinions and learn from fans as the brand continues to innovate.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It may be ambitious to drink all 12 cans in a day (of course, it has been done), but once taste testers have sampled them all and found their favorites, Spindrift wants to hear about it. Share a photo with your favorite flavor, and tag @drinkspindrift on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Add the tag #DrifterFam to be entered to win a three-month supply of your favorite Spindrift flavor(s). Starting in August, three lucky winners will be randomly selected each month until December 31, 2020.</p>
