Summer is just a few days away, and it’s one of the most important times of year for the soft drink industry. Every year we see new brands hitting the shelves just before summer. Here is my personal list of soft drinks that I’m eager to try this summer:
In April, Bhakti Chai released a line of natural sparkling teas in four different flavours. Inspired by a trip to India in 2002, Brook Eddy started the Bhakti Chai brand. Now, the company has a line of natural, sparkling teas. This new line has products with flavours like Lemon Ginger, Mint Mate, Mango Lime Matcha, and Tart Cherry Rooibos. All of the flavours have no GMOs, making them even more appealing. Bhakti Chai sparkling teas come in glass 355 ml bottles. These products are currently available only in the United States.
This brand is releasing two limited edition flavours this summer. From June until August, Serrano Pepper and Malali Watermelon will be available for consumers in the United States. Currently, DRY is available in Canada and the United States in glass 355 ml bottles. DRY has been a well-known brand in the U.S. market for more than 10 years, and the release of limited edition flavours is a great way for the brand to stay current in such a competitive industry.
Ugly is an unsweetened sparkling water brand based in the UK. The brand was introduced to the market in June of 2015 with four different flavours of unsweetened water. However, it appears that the brand wasn’t fully satisfied with the concept of the drink, and Ugly was re-introduced with two new flavours in 2016. Lemon & Lime and Grapefruit & Pineapple are perfect for hot summer days, and their convenient packaging is easy to carry and colourful enough to become an instant summer accessory.
This brand is well-known to DrinkPreneur readers. Nix & Kix was part of DrinkPreneur Live 2015 in London. The brand didn’t win first place; however, it made a huge impression on our team. Since its very beginning, the brand team successfully spread Nix & Kix across Western Europe. The brand offers three flavours: Rich Mango & Zingy Ginger, Cool Cucumber & Fresh Mint, and Succulent Peach & Smooth Vanilla. I can’t imagine anything more refreshing than a Nix & Kix mixed with ice. The difficult part is choosing which flavour I like the most.
Just Bee — based in the UK—is honey water packaged in Tetra Pak cartons. Antioxidants are critically important to maintaining a healthy body, and Just Bee water is enriched with honey, a natural antioxidant. Just Bee comes in three different flavours: Apple & Ginger, Blueberry, and Lemon & Green Tea. Because of the range of flavours, everyone will likely find one that they like. In addition, the brand promotes itself as nature-friendly—Just Bee has a campaign dedicated to saving honey bees, and consumers can order free samples of bee-friendly wildflower seeds.
