Unfavorable Weather Conditions Continue to Batter Food ProductionFood and drink professionals from across the country are counting down the days until this year’s Food & Drink Business Europe Conference and Exhibition. The tantalising event which takes place on the 2nd of October in the Ricoh Arena is the largest gathering of its kind in the UK.

Over 3,000 key decision makers from a wide range of sectors including retail and food service industries, food processing and food technologies are set to attend. The event promises unique insights into the food and drink industry through a range of seminars and panel discussions.

3,000 food industry professionals, 200 speakers and 170 exhibitors will take part in talks on growth, development, trade and markets. Despite it being a remarkable year for food and drink due to extreme high temperatures recently, the UK maintains its position globally as a “big ingredients” country due to food production and processing levels. The emphasis on production and the knock on effect of the British heatwave will all play a key part in this years event.

Recent figures from the Food and Drink Federation show food and drink contributes £28.8bn to the economy. It also reveals food and and drink is the biggest manufacturing sector in the country which is larger than automotive and aerospace combined.

The current state and challenging conditions for agri-farming will be a hot topic at this years event.
