Arlu Rum Releases New Packaging Produced By The Label Makers

Arlu Rum Releases New Packaging Produced By The Label MakersWith the burgeoning rum market set to surpass sales of £1billion in the UK and demand showing no sign of slowing down, design agencies and label manufacturers are being kept busy fulfilling briefs for vivid and engaging, stand-out labels for drinks brands.

Bradford-based The Label Makers for example, has seen a rapid increase in work for the rum category, the results of which saw the firm secure Label of the Year in last year’s UK Packaging Awards for a striking and complex embossed design.

More recently, The Label Makers has worked with Alderman’s Drinks to produce labels for their Arlu Rum range consisting of: Arlu Rum Original Spiced, Arlu Rum Passionfruit & Mango and Arlu Rum Blood Orange – the rum is made with liquid imported from Guyana’s Diamond Distillery and then blended with flavours and spices in Manchester. Alderman’s Drinks, which was founded in 2017 by Mark Smallwood and Liam Manton, also own the highly acclaimed Didsbury Gin brand, whose label was additionally produced by The Label Makers.

For this series of labels, The Label Makers digitally printed the designs onto Fasson Arctic White FSC material, which was then finished with a high build silk screen – the effect being a simple, yet sophisticated minimalist styling.

“We’ve worked with The Label Makers now for around 15 months, which started with their fantastic work on the Didsbury Gin label,” said brand marketing & PR manager, Amy Harrison. “For the Arlu Rum range, the paper choice for the project was really important, so we worked closely with The Label Makers to ensure we had the perfect match on quality to complement the design. The end result was an excellent quality label and exactly what we wanted – spot on! We’re looking forward to expanding both the Didsbury Gin and Arlu range with new flavours and will be calling on The Label Makers again for their assistance in progressing that.”

Commenting on the project, The Label Makers Alastair Fielding, said: “Working on the Arlu range was a real pleasure. We have a great working relationship with the client and look forward to building on this for the future.”
