Fully Sustainable Waiakea Bottle Coming In 2018

Fully Sustainable Waiakea Bottle Coming In 2018

From the very start, Waiakea has been passionately committed to creating a fully sustainable end-of-life packaging option for its bottles. Five years and over 1,200 experiments later, Waiakea is proud to announce that we are one step closer to achieving a FULLY DEGRADABLE BOTTLE! Yup, you heard that right.

These revolutionary bottles are made possible thanks to our partner TimePlast, the first and only patented additive for the nano-degradation of plastic in the world.

“Ordinarily, plastic will take more than a millennium to naturally biodegrade, hence its poor reputation as having a large ecological footprint. However, with TimePlast, we are able to accelerate the degradation process significantly, turning the plastic’s lifespan from 1,500-years to a reasonable 15-years,” says Ryan Emmons, founder and CEO of Waiakea.

Starting in 2018, Waiakea will begin producing bottles that degrade 97% faster than traditional bottles and reduce plastic’s carbon footprint by a whopping 65%.

Along with making a significant environmental impact, the new technology behind Waiakea’s fully degradable bottle will radically change the entire beverage and CPG industries on a global scale. It only seems appropriate to envision that both Waiakea and TimePlast will be the pioneering spirit in its mass adoption of this revolutionary technology.
