Valmiermuiža Dark Smoked Lager

Developed and produced in Latvia’s Valmiermuiža brewery, Valmiermuiža Dark Smoked Lager is distinguished by a lovely dark paper label on 500- or 330-mL glass bottles.

Immediately upon opening the bottle, tasters can smell the strong aroma of smoked malt, mixed well with notes of caramel and honey. Accompanied by an equally strong taste profile, with a bitterness of 27 IBUs from Hallertauer Mittelfruh and Hallertauer Nugge hops, the notes of smoke create a unique flavor.

At 5.5% alcohol, the beer is not overly strong, has a thick body, a slightly turbid, amber color, and is quite pleasant to drink. Interestingly, the malt used in brewing was dried over an open birch-wood flame. It’s definitely worth trying this fantastic beer!
